Labor law is one of the few areas where federal standards
are stricter than state standards, and employers must always comply with the most
stringent requirements. ANCOR has worked with U.S. Department of Labor officials
since 1973 to understand the application of the Fair Labor Standards Act to community
residences. ANCOR Wage & Hour Consultant Joni Fritz has become a recognized
expert in this complicated area, continually negotiating for flexibility in the
way sleep time and other requirements are handled.
ANCOR contracts with Joni Fritz to provide
Wage and Houre guidance. There is no cost to ANCOR members for phone guidance,
or to organizations insured by the Irwin Siegel Agency, but others will be billed
$30 for up to the first half-hour and $10 for each additional 10 minutes of
a call. Please call ANCOR at 703-535-7850 for information on how to contact
Joni.
The 2008 edition of ANCOR's Wage and Hour Handbook is significantly revised to provide you with the most up-to-date and comprehensive overview of Federal wage and hour rules that apply to office personnel and staff of community living arrangements. The handbook covers the basics for both hourly and exempt employees, and provides in-depth analysis of the latest Federal labor requirements and enforcement policies. ANCOR members: $50.00; non-members: $75.00 includes postage.
